Whitefish Bay Middle School is a public school in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin. It serves as a bridge between the two elementary schools, Cumberland and Richards, and the high school. The current principal is Lisa Gies. The athletic team is known as the Lions.
The school has one musical a year. Sports programs include boys' wrestling, cross country, track, girls' softball, both boys' and girls' basketball, and co ed tennis. Also, the middle school class of 2010 is the only class to go undefeated in basketball. They finished the season 15-0 and beat their rival twice. The leaders of that team are now in high school and will soon lead the Blue Dukes to a state title for the first time since 2001, even though they are the least appreciated class by the middle school teachers. It also has a non-elected student council. Officers are elected by the council. The current president of the student council is Eric Schmid. The student council is very active in the local area as well as the school, promoting community service. Musical programs include a choir, band, and orchestra.
Obviously, education is the main focus of this school by definition. The teachers hired for this school are top quality and care about their students. In addition to standard academic classes such as math or science, the school's curriculum also includes classes such as leadership and life skills. The teachers are able to make their lessons interactive and challenge their students in a way that let students reach their full potential.
